Introducing the Three Parishes Community “Fridge” – Initial trial for 6 weeks (from 17th Feb 2021)

Fritwell Village Hall Committee are pleased to support the enthusiasm. drive and effort of Fritwell resident Kerry Mellor with her Three Parishes Community “Fridge” initiative.

The Community “Fridge” collects unsold, surplus or waste foods from supermarkets, distributors and donations from individuals that are then made available to the wider community saving food surplus from going to landfill.

Food from the “Fridge” is available to any residents in the Three Parishes Communities (Fritwell, Ardley with Fewcott and Souldern)

Kerry is passionate about this initiative and has connections with FareShare and the Cherwell Larder (based out of Kidlington, whose efforts are supported by a number of Fritwell resident volunteers)

The Three Parishes “Fridge” trial started Wednesday 17th February 2021 and will run initially for 6 weeks.

During the 6 week trial the “Fridge” plans to be open every Sunday 10:00 to 12:00 (and when possible on a Wednesday from 16:30 to 17:30) in the VH car park (as the hall is currently not open). Please check for week to week “Fridge” opening days during the trial, on their Facebook page (see link below).

Please remember to wear a face mask and maintain social distancing to ensure the safe operation of this initiative.
