A new Village Hall for Fritwell – May/June 2022 update
Further to the update in April (see here) the Village Hall Trustees have decided to work with WalkerGraham Architects on the next steps towards a new Village Hall for Fritwell. We have had a further meeting with the architects and agreed a basic plan to submit to the District Council for pre-planning. This process doesn’t focus so much on the internal layout of the hall, but is more about confirming where the hall can be placed on the site, and the materials that can be used to build it. Once we have this information from the pre-planning process we can bring draft ideas to share with the community. We understand that pre-planning can take a number of weeks, but would hope to have a further update by the end of July.
During May the Chair of the Village Hall CIO, Cass Miller-Jones, also provided an update to the community at the Parish Council meeting. This update was well received and she was able to answer a few questions posed by the attendees and the Council.
At the current time, the Village Hall has two Trustee vacancies. We would very much like to hear from those in the community who may wish to join us at this time. Given the ongoing project to replace the current hall we would particularly encourage those with building, project management or fundraising experience to consider joining us. If you’d like to hear more about what it means to be a Trustee, or would like to talk it through in more details, please do get in touch. In addition, if you don’t have the time to commit to a full Trustee role, but would like to get involved, please let us know. We know that it is going to ‘take a village’ to get this done! You can contact us via firstname.lastname@example.org or via our Facebook page.
