Review written by Carl H…

Another fantastic Fritwell Live hosted by the mighty Frets and Strings who kicked things off with Janine adding classy flute tooting. Ben Wheeler then performed three songs brilliantly before handing over to Jay who showed a new confidence following his chop-developing tour of Bicester Open mic. nights. Will Vetcher treated us to some fresh material and once again incorporated his fancy neck brace and mouth organ combo. Ian then treated us all to a reprise of lockdown favourite, “Bog Roll Bertha” including some topical updates before launching into a new song about Mick (or Dave) the Post and our Col (sadly not in attendance) to the tune of “Ernie”. Carl H. played a James Taylor cover and two of his own numbers and demonstrated some great guitar work! Kit Gough treated us to three original numbers and I think it is fair to say, held the room captivated with his fantastic voice. Finally, Frets and Strings closed things off with a Halloween-themed set. We were thrilled to see a number of new faces. It is always nice to see new Fritwell residents getting involved and hopefully, the word will be spread and we will see even more at the next Fritwell Live on 10th December. Thanks to Christine for running the bar, which is always a busy place during these excellent evenings.
