June 2023

In February we updated you that planning permission for a New Village Hall for Fritwell had been received. Since then the Trustees have been busy getting organised for one of the main challenges – fundraising!

It is likely that the fundraising for a New Hall will come from a number of sources, such as grants, business sponsorship and local fundraising. All of these will be important in reaching the target of £500,000!

In terms of the local community there are many ways that you can get involved in fundraising for a new hall if you would like to. You can:

  • Run a Fundraising event – if you have an idea for an event then please do get in touch us at newhallquery@fritwellvillagehall.co.uk. We’ll partner you with a Trustee to help support with your event. We are starting to build a diary of these events to run through 2023 and 2024
  • Attend a Fundraising event – by attending one of the fundraising events you will be directly contributing to reaching the fundraising total
  • Donate via the collection boxes – These green boxes will feature at Hall events from now on
  • Use the fundraising page – there is a Crowdfunder page where you can make a donation or use the link for your own fundraising event. You can go to this web page by clicking Crowdfunder or use this QR code to reach the page:

Make a direct payment – if you are unsure about using Crowdfunder or have any questions about a donation you would like to make, please do get in touch

Thank you for any contribution you are able to make, and for all of your support! Please share the fundraising challenge with your friends and family, and feel free to get in touch with us on newhallquery@fritwellvillagehall.co.uk if you have any ideas or questions. Details of how your donation will be used can be found on the Village Hall website at https://www.fritwellvillagehall.co.uk/fvh-fundraising-donations-policy-summary-statement/

Remaining on New Village Hall business the CIO has recently set up a sub-committee to focus on elements of the work to make this happen. This will involve things like submitting grant applications, developing a business plan and narrowing down the details of the building itself. Over the coming months (and likely years) we hope that many members of the community can get involved in this sub-committee, making it a real community project. If you think you have skills, experience, insights or ideas that could be relevant, or you would just like to get involved, we’d love to hear from you on newhallquery@fritwellvillagehall.co.uk.

And finally… some of you may have noticed that the Village Hall has a colourful new logo. We’d like to thank Carl Barber for his time and creative skills in making this happen – we think it looks great!
