FRITWELL FAMILY FUN DAY & FLOWER SHOW Saturday 16th August 2025 Review

Another very successful Fun Day & Flower Show was held on 16th August, even though the weather wasn’t quite as good as last year. At least it didn’t rain! As usual, there were lots of stalls and activities, lovely home baked cakes, burgers and sausages and chances to win a variety of raffle prizes, and bottles. At the moment, we’re in line to make a profit of around £1,200 but accounts have to be finalised and engraving of trophies carried out and paid for. All funds go towards the upkeep of the present Hall, allowing profit from most other fundraising events to go towards a new Village Hall.

This magnificent result could not have been achieved without the significant help and contributions from many people, so the trustees thank all those who helped in any way.  Thanks go to Kirsty Lowdon for the schedule, posters, signs and prize cards, Alistair Lowdon for all his toing and froing for tables, gazebos and such things; to all those who responded to the call for volunteers to put up marquees and set out tables on the day; to all those who served on stalls and activities; to other groups for joining in (we hope they made money for themselves too!); to those who made cakes, and finally to all those residents who contributed so generously to the request for items for stalls. It was truly a team effort from the all trustees, but particular thanks to Glynis Lowdon who helped to organise the whole event and Mick Stiff who led the marquee team.

The Flower Show part of the event showed some welcome new entrants, but we could do with more, so start thinking ahead to your entries next year!  There were new trophy winners too, so special congratulations to those on the list below.
