If you were there, you will have felt the “electric” atmosphere generated by the acoustic talent on show. If you missed it – there is a second one planned – news as soon as the date is fixed.

So this was the inaugural Fritwell Village Hall Open Mic Night!

It was particularly warming to see the young musical talent on show (Jenny, Jay Mc, Annie and Clara) as well as the more mature artists (Carl Hynes, Ian Critchley, Paul “Acoustic Bassman” Walder). Ian also had his mate Jim who travelled all thw way from Sunderland to sing. Organisers Carl & Ian said the night was particularly helped because of the talent of “Open Mic” Mike Stewart working hard behind the sound desk.

Also a big thanks to Ginny Staples for running the bar and taking the videos she took.

Carl was very pleased that some of his students from his Frets and Strings Guitar Tuition took part. He has capacity to take more students – so go here for more information on learning to play or improve your guitar playing or click on his advert that comes up on the website.

Anyway, please see the photos and videos below.

Carl on his own (opening song), Jenny, Carl and Paul (Man Who Sold), Carl and Ian (Light My Fire), and Annie/Clara (singing Don’t Stop Believing), which we hope will attract you to come to the next one to play or listen & of course the FVH Bar will be open!

So, come and join us next time and bring a guitar if you’d like to do a song or two. All styles, ages and abilities welcomed or just bring yourself and your ears!

It’s a really relaxing way to spend a couple of hours on a Sunday evening.

More info for Acoustic night 2 soon…
