The newly formed Fritwell Table Tennis Club held its inaugural Club Tournament at Fritwell Village Hall on Monday 20th October. Seventeen club members entered the highly competitive event, which was run with a handicap system to ensure everyone had an equal chance of winning. We saw some great Table Tennis throughout the evening, and a lot of fun and laughter! It was great to see the younger players coming through with Brodie Bye and Daniel Dayus defeating all comers (including Daniel beating his Dad in the Semi Final) to face each other in the Final. It was a close match with Daniel using his impressive serving and strong backhand play to try and pull back Brodie’s favourable handicap. In the end though the rapidly improving Brodie, using his unconventional pen-hold grip, held on with some strong, steady return play to win the game and the Tournament. It was a great evening and thanks to everyone who came and played!!
